The classes
– Levels must be respected in order to ensure the smooth running of the classes. To best determine your level at the beginning of the year, please refer to our Levels page and talk to your teachers. For levels above inter-advanced, we offer auditions.
– Trial classes are only possible if the class is not full.
– You generally have 32 classes. Teachers will inform you of the dates when there are no classes; they are also indicated in your personal account. In exceptional cases, these dates may be modified, and you will then be notified by message and by your teachers.
– For reasons of balance and group management, a missed class cannot be replaced by another class during the week.
– In order not to disturb the preceding classes, the room is only accessible 5 minutes before the start of your class.
– It is forbidden to film outside of the recap sequence provided by your teachers.
– Class videos belong to TDS and must under no circumstances be shared with a third party who is not in your class group or on social media.
– The annual subscription includes approximately 32 classes, spread from September to June.
– Registration for a class is personal and non-transferable.
– The rates applied are those indicated on the website. Everything is included, there are no additional membership fees.
– No refunds are possible.
– We offer annual subscriptions from September to June. For any registration during the year, please contact us.
– Reduced rates are available to students under 26 and job seekers, upon presentation of proof.
– In the event of departure or prolonged absence, please notify us by sending an email to contact@templeduswing.com.
– Your membership card is digital and accessible from your personal account (in the “account” tab). It allows you to benefit from discounts.
– Each student must have personal liability insurance. The school cannot under any circumstances be held responsible in the event of an incident or accident occurring during a class, workshop, or evening event.
– The school declines all responsibility in the event of theft of personal belongings during classes, workshops, or evening events.
Consent applies to partner dancing:
– Invitation to dance: you are free to accept a dance or not, without having to justify yourself. By remaining clear and kind in an invitation or a refusal, everyone can feel comfortable.
– During a dance: no inappropriate or rough words or gestures are tolerated at the Temple du Swing. A clumsy mistake can happen, but repeated behavior will not be accepted.
Likewise, unless your partner asks you, there is no need to make comments about their dancing.
Hygiene:
– Partner dancing being a contact activity (we touch, we talk closely), don’t forget to wash your hands before and after classes, workshops, or evening events; to bring spare clothes, a toothbrush, or chewing gum if necessary… Your partners thank you!
– Please come to dance with clean shoes, respect our floor, and you will enjoy dancing even more!
– Also, if you have a cough, fever (or other infectious symptoms), we kindly ask you to stay home.
Mood:
– The Temple du Swing specializes in social dances. We of course focus on technique (which can be complex), but also on a good mood! A dance class should remain a moment of pleasure, of relaxation, a way to share with friends, as a couple, in a group, a pleasant hobby. An hour of class allows you to put your worries aside, not to share them with everyone.
In the gallery, it is forbidden to:
– Ride a bike or a scooter.
– Smoke.
– Make noise and congregate.
NO to violence, YES to DANCING!
The Temple du Swing is committed to preventing and fighting against violence in order to protect dancers.
– Violence is an action / behavior that harms the physical, psychological, or moral integrity of a person.
It can take different forms: physical blows, injuries, abuse of power, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, intimidation, humiliation, racist, sexist, or discriminatory remarks…
– None of these behaviors, regardless of their nature, are tolerated at the Temple du Swing.
